It’s time to join regional
group and save money
Bow officials are again looking for ways to trim the budget – a move that would save taxpayer dollars, especially as some residents are trying to make their paychecks last in these hard economic times. Some local communities have joined together to create the Suncook Valley Regional Town Association, which discovered it can save money by buying services such as insurance benefits for employees. The Bow Board of Selectmen have been alerted to this group and may investigate how this strategy could benefit their community as well. The Bow School District has already saved money by joining the city of Concord and schools and buys gas and heating fuel in bulk. We believe it would be worthwhile for town officials to take the time to look into joining the Suncook Valley Regional Town Association. While there is no guaranteee that the town would reap any monetary benefits at this time, it is the responsibility of town officials to do whatever they can to ease taxpayers’ burden. Thinking outside the box could make all the difference. - Editorials published by Neighborhood News Inc. are written by an editorial board.
